High-throughput laboratory evolution to study antimicrobial resistance (postdoc).
Use of high-throughput laboratory evolution aided by genomics to study antimicrobial resistance in microbial populations and bacterial communities

Your tasks

  • Run high-throughput microbial evolution studies
  • Use whole-genome sequencing to study genetics of antimicrobial resistance
  • Run follow-up experiments on genetic variants of interest
  • Build evolutionary models using collected data

Your requirements

  • PhD using molecular biology and/or genomics
  • Demonstrable experience in molecular biology techniques
  • Demonstrable experience with microbial culturing and genetic manipulation
  • Optional: experience in operating robotic platforms (e.g. liquid-handling, ...)
  • Optional: basic computational biology abilities (training is available from PI)
  • Optional: experience with antimicrobial resistance research

We enable you a collegial initial training and diverse training and development opportunities as well as an extensive health program for employees. In addition, we offer reliable family support and there is a day care center for children with emergency childcare. Furthermore, you will find the usual social benefits of the public service.
