As an Advanced Clinician Scientist in the AVIATOR program, you will play a central role at the intersection of clinical care, research, and academic development, including:
- Conducting an independent, clinically relevant translational research project with societal impact in one of MHH’s strategic research areas.
- Establishing and leading your own research group, including responsibility for staff, resources, and scientific planning.
- Securing competitive third-party funding to develop your research agenda and sustainably establish your group.
- Integration into clinical care with a clearly defined clinical profile aligned with your research.
- Participation in structured training activities within the program.
- Active involvement in mentoring, teaching, and science communication, including Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) and Open Science.
- Taking responsibility for your career development through individual goal-setting, regular evaluations, and strategic coaching.
- Contributing to the further development of the program through participation in committees and exchange formats at MHH and nationally/internationally.
Requirements
- Doctorate (Dr. med.) and completed specialist training in human medicine or dentistry
- Proven research experience at the R2 career stage
- Clinical activity with a strong scientific drive
- Clear scientific vision and willingness to actively shape an independent research profile
- Motivation for academic independence and future leadership
- Interest in translational research connecting clinical practice, science, and patient benefit
- Commitment to active participation in AVIATOR as a career development program
